Objective Red Hat is the world’s leading provider of open source, enterprise IT solutions, using an open, collaborative business model and an affordable, predictable subscription. With open source gaining momentum among tech professionals, Red Hat wanted to engage technology professionals through an online salary benchmarking tool to help them assess their capabilities and salaries vis-a-vis their peers.

Solution We developed a comprehensive salary survey targeting developers across the ASEAN region, as well as Australia and New Zealand. Participants were recruited via e-mail and online advertising. After participants had indicated their skills and salary range, they received customised reports based on their responses, along with a unique username and password for logging into the survey website. With the customised reports, participants could then benchmark themselves against their peers across countries and industries.
